Truth Tale #16: Happy Birthday, Max!

Happy Birthday, my Max! 25 years!

I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. A day of awe, and a traumatic day, all in one. After a rough beginning- your birth, your recovery, my recovery, and finally figuring out a health issue…YOU were the sweetest, most angelic, delicious soul. You were the face of pure and earnest wonder. You were a best friend by the age of 18 months. You and Aidan, a little team. The Star Wars, legos, Playmobile, the creative play, as well as the athletic ability that came so naturally. So much so, that for this family, it was a wonder where that even came from.

You were blessed with a nervous system that too had me wonder where on earth that came from…a very steady, sure, rational and even keeled wiring. I used to say, “If I could have anyone’s nervous system, it would be Max’s!” He loves life, lives it, enjoys it to the fullest (reminds me of my dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). He is deep and thoughtful, evolved and self aware. I remember watching him, at about 20 months old, working with me in the garden, delighting in “the work”, with his huge eyes and mile long eye lashes peering into the fruits of his labor….feeling the joy of his hard work.

Proud, as he should be. As I am! Proud, yet always humble. What a unique and wonderful combination.

And to this day, 25 years into life, I continue to marvel at your grace, your balance, your humility. I am so lucky/blessed to have you as my son. I get to witness your growth, your blooming, your how you marvel in your love for life. You are a son, a little brother, a big brother, a grandson, a great grandson, a cousin, an uncle, a boyfriend/partner, a friend, a worker among workers, a man, a giver, a thinker, an impactful soul.

Thank you for YOU, Max!

I love you so much.

Happy Birthday
